The work integrates anatomy elements with the process of moving and dancing, for the pleasure of the body considered as our habit and medium of adaptness.
An investigation on movement anchored to contemporary dance and based on perceptions and body awareness, mainly for the joy of experiencing movements in space, testing one's potential and individual expression.
The class results in a dynamic mix between listening, energic exercises and rhythmical steps regarding coordination. We line the body and dive deep into its physicality by introducing a specific task in the form of somatic or technical matter. We gradually enable dividual tools and include severals variables of contemporary dance: weight, space, time, dynamics. Next we bring into play variations of speed and energy, spatial relations and projections through different lengths of sequences and guided improvisation.
The aim is to reach a dynamic state that leads body and mind into a fluent dance. The personal presence, with its own specific language, is engaged and liberated to express itself, to co-exist and to enjoy the dance.
Stefania works as dancer, maker and dance-teacher in Berlin where she moved in 2013.
She got her degree in Dance & Pedagogy in Milan by C.I.M.D. in 2018, followed by studies with several choreographers and in different dance techniques included Instant Composition. She have been making dance and pieces as solos, in collectives and in big or small companies. She is co-founder of the ensemble One:Third (preis 100°Berlin Festival 2015) and others dance collective. She is active on the Berlin scene as improviser, constantly experiencing new and multidisciplinary collaborations in live-performances. She teachs to adults and (even very young) children
As teacher, her practice tracks integrations of physical skills and techniques in contemporary dance with Instant Composition principles, assuming first the joy in moving and dancing.
